Porthmadog By-Pass: Security Fencing

We have completed 585m of 1800mm high security fencing on the Porthmadog By-Pass at Minffordd. The fence is not only a security fence but also acts as an otter fence. The fencing was constructed of 2100mm high weld-mesh with three rows of barbed wire above, all set on cranked concrete posts. The weldmesh was buried 300mm and also turned out 300mm. Works were completed by Balfour Beatty Jones Brothers Joint Venture.

All works have been completed on time and on budget. We are now waiting for a 14m wide cantilever gate to close off the roadway. (Pictures and update to follow).
