Glyn Rhonwy Quarry: V-mex Fencing

The Glyn Rhonwy site has been identified as a strategic development site and Gwynedd Council were concerned that they needed to enhance security and safety at the site with a view to increasing the number of proposals from prospective developers.

We worked closely with Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK to install a total of 952m of 2m high V-mex fencing supplied by IAE Fencing of Stoke-on-Trent. The site was particularly difficult as it is an old quarry which meant that digging conditions were very hard. An added complication was that approximately 350m of the fence-line was on a steep slope which is not well suited to a weld-mesh panel system. We overcame this problem by having posts at 1m centres, as shown in the photographs below.

There was a tight time frame for the works to be completed but from the date of receiving the order the materials were delivered and installed within 5 weeks.
