Porthmadog Sports & Football Club: Ballstop Fencing

The Porthmadog sports and football club ballstop scheme consisted of 160m of 8m high fencing and 130m of 10m high fencing. The purpose of both fences was to stop footballs being kicked onto the busy new by-pass. The 10m high fence was an extremely difficult job as the fence-line was sandwiched between a deep ditch and the Football Clubs stadium.

The design of the posts had been checked by chartered Engineers and the ground had been tested to calculate what size concrete foundations were required. An extra-long Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) was used to access the fence-line. All works went to plan with the works completed within 10 working days and more importantly completed before the local schools sports day.
