Ysgol Penmaenrhos School: Ramp Handrails

The problem at Ysgol Penmaenrhos School was that the original access path to the school did not provide easy access for disabled persons and did not adhere to the latest building regulations.

To overcome this problem we were appointed to work with a local civil engineering contractor who laid the required concrete and tarmac ramp. Once they were at a stage where they determined where the finish levels were, we were able to take the measurements and proceed to fabricationg the handrails. We created drawings for the main contractors for approval, upon which we completed installation within 3 weeks.

The handrail legs were cored into the new concrete plinth and through careful planning during the construction of the ramp we were able to ensure that we avoided any steel re-enforcing whilst diamond drilling.
